Travel Day

I hate flying. It's hot, slightly claustrophobic, cramped... not to mention the stressed out and grouchy people, the ones who are late and the ones who are down right selfish.

Mom and Dad dropped me off at the airport. Dad told me my bag was over weight (50 lbs), but I have weighted it before I left and the only thing I added afterwards was a block of cheese from Norway that Rose wanted to give Lisa. It was exactly 50 lbs. Win.... After a really fast goodbye due to about thirty Canadian band kids about to go through security, I began my airport/flying journey. Since my plane didn't depart for another two ish hours, I read a couple chapters of Lark Rise to Candleford, a book I've intended on reading for some time.

The first flight, I was seated in Delta's Comfort row, the row right behind first class with more leg space. I wasn't going to complain. It was definitely better. I had the middle seat, but the old lady on one side was super quiet and read or slept the entire time. The guy at the window seat and I spent the majority of the two hour flight staring out the window. Of course leaving Washington was amazing, you can't really beat the Olympics and Cascades and all the water and islands... It was the clearest flight I had ever seen and even at out highest altitude, there were hardly any clouds and thus we could see the ground perfectly. Mt. Hood, Mt. Baker and Mt. Adams were absolutely phenomenal. I wish I could have taken a couple pictures.

I flew on the eastern side of these mountains,

My layover in Salt Lake City was around 25 minutes. That flight passed passed and I slept, played games, listened to music and tried not to go antsy. It helped that I had just finished a super busy weekend (post to come). When I got to Nashville and finally saw Lisa and Elsa, my little munchkin came running towards me and gave me the biggest hug. She's so changed since the last time I saw her.
